Overview of Imatinib 400mg Tablet

Imat (Imatinib) tablet is used to treat certain types of cancer of the blood cells, stomach, intestine, bone marrow, and skin. This medicine stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. This medicine comes in the form of tablets and it has to be taken with food. It is advisable not to change or stop the dose without taking permission from your doctor. The recommended dose of medicine is decided by your medical advisor. Some side effects may occur during your treatment with this medicine. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet. 

Pharmacodynamics of Imat (Imatinib)

Imatinib is an antineoplastic agent and a 2-phenylaminopyrimidine derivative that is used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia. It works as a specific inhibitor of several tyrosine kinase enzymes. After the oral administration effect of this medicine can be observed in 2-4 hours.
