Overview

Mekinist (Trametinib) is used in the treatment of metastatic melanoma (skin cancer that has spread to other areas of the body). This medicine comes in the form of tablets. This medicine has to be taken orally. This medication works by slowing the growth of cancer cells. Do not take this medicine in the wrong way as it may lead to some severe side effects. Take this medicine according to your doctor’s dosing schedule.  It is advisable not to change or stop the dose without taking suggestions from the doctor. Pharmacodynamics of Mekinist (Trametinib Tablet)

Trametinib is a reversible inhibitor of the mitogen-activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1 (MEK1) and MEK2 activation and MEK1 and MEK2 kinase activity. After the oral administration of Trametinib, the effect of this medicine can be absorbed in 1.5 hours.
