TS-ONE Capsule is an anti-cancer medicine used in the treatment of Gastric Cancer with other medications like Cisplatin. It is also used in the treatment of head and neck cancer, lung, biliary tract, breast, pancreatic, and colorectal cancer. TS-ONE capsules comprise three agents namely tegafur (FT), gimeracil (CDHP), and oteracil potassium (Oxo). It is a prescription medicine, used with other medications to treat certain types of cancers. It is not prescribed for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. This medicine may cause certain side effects. It is important to know the relevant ways to manage the side effects before the administration of the capsules. Make sure to consult your physician.
The antitumor activity of TS-ONE after its administration (orally) is based on 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) that tends to appear gradually in the body via the transformation of FT. CDHP increased the 5-FU’s concentration, which is converted from FT, by selectively and reversibly inhibiting DPD, a catabolic enzyme of 5-FU, which is particularly distributed in the liver. 5-fluoronucleotides, phosphorylated metabolites of 5-FU, are highly maintained in tumor tissues, thereby enhancing the antitumor activity in proportion to the increase in the concentration of 5-FU in the body. Oxo works to selectively inhibit the production of 5-fluoronucleotides from 5-FU by enabling the distribution in the gastrointestinal tissue as a result of the medicine’s administration, and selectively inhibiting orotate phosphoribosyltransferase.
TS-ONE Capsules are not indicated for use in the following cases. However, if its use can not be avoided during any of these situations, make sure to know the risks associated with the medicine before the administration.

Kidney disease
In patients having known kidney disease, TS-ONE Capsules should be administered either cautiously or be avoided.
Liver disease
In patients having known liver disease, TS-ONE Capsules should be administered either cautiously or be avoided.
Driving
TS-ONE Capsules may cause dizziness or lack of concentration. Therefore, it is important to avoid driving or any other activity that needs high concentration.
Alcohol consumption
Consumption of alcohol with TS-ONE Capsule should be avoided. It may cause a serious effect on the health of the patient.
Smoking
