Usage

The guidewire is intended to ease the placement of balloon dilatation catheters during the time of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA).

Adverse events 

• Excessive bleeding 

• Air embolism

• Hematoma at the puncture site  

• Ischemia 

• Vessel spasm 

• Infection 

• Vascular thrombosis

• Vessel dissection

Warnings and Precautions

• Guidewires are designed and intended for one-time use or SINGLE-USE ONLY.

• These are very delicate instruments that should be handled and stored with care. 

• Test the system of free movement of the guidewire within the interventional device for any resistance prior to use. 

• Do not attach the torque device extendable guidewire (towards the modified portion of its proximal end). 

Contraindications 

The guidewire should not be used in the cerebral vasculature.
