And, Avaxim Pediatrics vaccine is indicated for use in patients older than 1 year to 15 years of age inclusive. This injection should be administered into the buttocks. Pre-exposure and post-exposure immunization are both essential to prevent HAV infection in the future. Its administration is recommended in the following cases-
People who are at increased risk of developing Hepatitis A virus infection.
People traveling to HAV-prone areas.
People who have close contact with people from HAV-prone areas.
