This medicine is a synthetic hormone. Zoladex belongs to luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonists. It is used both in men and women, but for separate purposes. The active ingredient of Zoladex is Goserelin. This compound is a synthetic decapeptide analog of LHRH. The result of the same is sustained suppression of LH and serum testosterone levels. The pharmacology of Goserelin has been determined in (both men and women) healthy individuals and patients. In such studies, the compound was given as a single 250µg (aqueous solution) dose and as a single or multiple 3.6 mg depot dose by subcutaneous route of administration.
