Overview of Zybiraa 250mg tablet

Zybiraa 250mg tablets is a hormone therapy medication that is used to treat prostate cancer in men. Abiraterone is the generic name of this medication and Abiraterone acetate. It is an anti-androgen that functions by suppressing androgen production. This medicine is strictly prescribed by the doctor who also decides the dose, and course of the treatment. It is only meant for treating prostate cancer in men and should not be prescribed to women.

Pharmacodynamics

CYP17 is the enzyme that catalyzes the formation of the androgens. In cancer, abnormal signalling increases the androgen levels which furthermore leads to uncontrollable cell growth in the prostate gland. This drug inhibits this enzyme which as a result inhibits the synthesis of androgens. Therefore, Zybiraa stops the uncontrollable cell growth and metastasis of the tumour cells.
