Acabrunat 100mg capsule is an anti-cancer medication used in the treatment of treat mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) and other disorders involving abnormal white blood cells that are the part of immune system. The medicine’s active ingredient is Acalabrutinib in the form of 100mg and belongs to the therapeutic class of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (TKI).

Acabrunat 100mg capsule works by inhibiting Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK), a protein that plays role in growth and survival of malignant B cells. By blocking the protein, the medicine helps to slow down or stop progression of cancer cells in the body.

Mantle cell lymphoma, small lymphocytic lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

Safety advice

Alcohol
Alcohol is not recommended to the patient of blood cancer or who are taking Acabrunat 100mg capsule, as it can increase the risk of liver damage and worsen the side effects.
Driving
Patient should avoid driving or operating machine while using Acabrunat 100mg capsule if they experience any side effects such as fatigue, dizziness and blurred vision.
Pregnancy
Acabrunat 100mg capsule is not prescribed to pregnant women as it harms the developing fetus. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should avoid taking this medicine.
Breast Feeding
Breastfeeding women should avoid taking Acabrunat 100mg capsule, as the drug may pass into breast milk and could harm nursing infant.
Kidney
Kidney patients are not recommended to take Acabrunat 100mg capsule as it can increase the risk of side effects.
Liver
Patient with liver problems should not be suggested to take Acabrunat 100mg capsule as reduced liver functions and interfere with the metabolism of the drug.
