What is the requirement of a prescription?

For Scheduled H, Scheduled H1 and other controlled medicines this covers most speciality, oncology, critical-care drugs, etc. As per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, India a valid prescription from a licensed medical practitioner is a legal requirement. In addition to it being a legal requirement, it also ensures the right medicine is supplied in the correct quantity and the right formulation for the right patient.

What constitutes a valid prescription?

The prescription should contain: - Patient's full name - Name and strength of medicine - Duration of therapy / Quantity required - Doctor's name, signature and registration number - Date of prescription (must be less than 6 months old in most cases from date of order)

Can I submit an e- prescription or digital prescription?

Accepted Answer

Yes. E- prescriptions generated by a licensed physician through the channel of telemedicine platform or the photo of your physical prescription should be uploaded. It should be legible and completely visible, along with all the mandatory details required. Online consultation generated from a registered medical doctor with the issue of e-prescription will be accepted.

What if my prescription is in a language other than Hindi or English?

Please reach out to our customer support. We may require assistance and explanation or translation from your doctor in case of regional language prescription to ensure we are dispensing the correct medication, we would not proceed on an ambiguous detail.

Question 5

My prescription has expired. What is required now?

Accepted Answer

An expired prescription cannot be used for dispatching the regulated medicine. Please get a renewed prescription from your doctor and upload it. Our team may also suggest a telemedicine consultation if you are on a long-term prescription and the doctor is unavailable to avoid delay.

Question 6

Is a new prescription required for all refill orders?

Accepted Answer

This will depend on the class of the drug and what your doctor recommends. A 6-month-validity prescription will usually cover multiple refills. Some of the restricted medicines, like Schedule H1 or narcotic analgesics or psychotropics require a new prescription for each refill; our customer support will inform you of it.
