Description
Cytarzer 500mg Injection is an anticancer injection prescribed by the doctor to treat various types of blood cancers including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute non-lymphoblastic leukemias, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) etc. It is also given to treat blast crises in chronic myeloid leukemia and erythroleukemia.
It also helps in the management of Management of meningeal leukemia and meningeal neoplasms via intrathecal administration. Cytarabine is the active ingredient of this medication.
It is often combined with other drugs like daunorubicin for remission induction in adults and pediatric patients.

Mechanism Of Action
Cytarzer Injection contains 500mg of Cytarabine that works as an antimetabolite chemotherapy.Cytarabine inhibits DNA polymerase, blocking DNA chain elongation, synthesis, and repair during the S-phase of the cell cycle. It also incorporates into DNA and RNA, disrupting replication and causing chain termination.
As a result, cancer cells are not able to multiply and eventually reduce in number.
