Product Description

Usage

The malecot flower design is primarily suited for the drainage of thick viscous fluids. This product is used for the percutaneous placement of a malecot catheter in the renal pelvis for nephrostomy drainage.

The Suprapubic/Malecot Catheter is used in the following conditions:

urinary retention

urinary incontinence

pelvic organ prolapse

spinal injuries or trauma

lower body paralysis

multiple sclerosis

Parkinson’s disease

benign prostatic hyperplasia

bladder cancer

Adverse Events

The Suprapubic/Malecot Catheter can cause the following adverse events after use:

urine not draining properly

high fever

abnormal abdominal pain

infection

discharge from the insertion area

internal bleeding or hemorrhage

urine leaking out of the catheter

a hole in the bowel area

stones or small pieces of tissue in the urine

small amounts of blood in the urine

discharge from urethra
