How It Works

  • Febutaz 40mg Tablet contains Febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. The enzyme xanthine oxidase, which breaks down purines by converting hypoxanthine to xanthine and subsequently to uric acid, is specifically blocked by febuxostat.
  • Urate crystals in joints are dissolved and gout flare-ups are avoided because to this non-competitive inhibition at the enzyme's active site, which lowers uric acid synthesis.​
