HIV and Hepatitis B Virus

Lamipure is a formulation of Lamivudine which is a nucleoside analog and reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It is used in the treatment of individuals diagnosed with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Syndrome) infection and HBV (Hepatitis B Virus). The regimen is also used to treat or manage AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). Most doctors recommend Lamipure with other antiretroviral drugs for better recovery. Sometimes, it is also prescribed for the prevention of HIV infection. Lamipure (Lamivudine) tablets are available in the strength of 150 mg. It should be taken orally with a glass of water at the same time every day.

Description

Lamivudine 150mg Tablet (Lamipure) is a synthetic nucleoside analog that is phosphorylated intracellularly to produce lamivudine triphosphate, an active 5'-triphosphate metabolite (L-TP).

HIV reverse transcriptase and HBV polymerase integrate this nucleoside analog into viral DNA, causing DNA chain termination.
