Dosage and Administration

Tafero EM (Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Alafenamide) tablet is a combination of two antiretroviral medications. It helps to delay the production of HIV infection and improves the quality of life. This medication is not a permanent cure for HIV infection. It only prevents the multiplication of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection in human cells. The recommended dose of Tafero EM medicine is decided by a doctor according to your previous medical condition and response to the treatment. Do not take this medicine in the wrong way as it may lead to some serious side effects. If you experience any signs and symptoms while receiving the Tafero-EM tablet, inform your doctor immediately.

Mechanism of action

Emtricitabine (Tafero EM), a synthetic nucleoside analog of cytidine, is phosphorylated by cellular enzymes to form emtricitabine 5'-triphosphate. Emtricitabine inhibits the activity of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (RT) by competing with the natural substrate deoxycytidine 5'-triphosphate and by being incorporated into nascent viral DNA, which results in chain termination.
