Description

Telma AM 40mg tablet is an antihypertensive combination medicine. The medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It contains two active ingredients is Telmisartan in (40mg) concentration and Amlodipine in (5mg) concentration.

They together work to lower the blood pressure effectively, decrease strain on the heart, and lower the risk of cardiovascular complications such as heart attack or stroke. Doctor's prescription is mandatory before using the tablet to avoid complications during the treatment.

How It Works

  • Telma AM 40mg tablet contains two drugs that lowers blood pressure by Angiotensin-II (constricts vessels), inhibiting calcium entry into muscles (relaxes vessels), and reducing excess fluid/sodium.
  • Telmisartan(40mg) acts as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) which preventing vasoconstriction and narrowing of blood vessels. Amlodipine (5mg) is a calcium channel blocker that prevents calcium from entering vascular smooth muscle cells, causing blood vessels to relax and widen.

Pregnancy
Pregnant women should avoid using Telma AM 40mg tablet as it can affect the unborn baby.
Breast Feeding
Telma AM 40mg tablet is passing through the breast milk which may be harmful for the baby as well as mother. Discuss with the doctor about the dosage and duration correctly to avoid further complications during the treatment.
Driving
Telma tablet cause side effects like dizziness, weakness and decrease in eye vision. However, it is unsafe to use the medicine while driving. Consult the healthcare professional if the symptoms worsen.
Kidney
Telma AM 40mg tablet is harmful or not, is not correctly administered. Follow the doctor's prescription before using the tablet.
Liver
Liver patient should avoid using Telma AM tablet as it is not suitable with liver disease.
