Description

Telma D tablet is a hypersensitivity medication which is used in treatment of high blood pressure with a combinations of two drugs. The medicine contains Temisartan in 40mg concentration and Indapamide in 1.5mg concentration that belongs to the drug class of anti hypertensive agents.

It works in lowering high blood pressure (hypertension) by relaxing blood vessels and reducing fluid retention. The medicine should be taken under doctor prescription to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Dosage and duration of the medication should be correctly determined by a doctor based on the patient's condition, blood pressure levels and response to the treatment.

How It Works

Telma D tablet contains two active drugs that lower blood pressure effectively. The medication is slowly blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor found in vascular smooth muscle. By inhibiting this receptor, telmisartan prevents blood vessels tightening effects of the hormone, leading to widening of blood vessels.

While Indapamide works in the kidney tubules to increase the excretion of sodium, chloride and water. This reduction in blood volume reduces the strain on the heart and allowing it to pump more efficiently.
