Tenvir EM Tablet shows some side effects. Some of the mild ones do not need any medical attention, and they go away as the body adapts to the medicine. It is important to consult your doctor if they persist for a longer time and are deteriorating your health. Side effects include:

• A doctor decides the recommended dose of Tenvir EM medicine according to your previous medical condition and response to the treatment.
• It is important to take this tablet as prescribed by your doctor.
• It is advised not to change your regular dosing schedule without taking suggestions from your doctor.
• This medicine should be taken orally at the same time every day.
• Take it as a whole with water and don't crush or chew the medicine.
• This tablet can be taken with or without food.    

• Tenvir EM tablet is a combination of two anti-HIV medicines: Emtricitabine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. Emtricitabine (Tenvir EM) is a synthetic nucleoside analog of cytidine, is phosphorylated by cellular enzymes to form emtricitabine 5'-triphosphate.
• It inhibits the activity of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (RT) by competing with the natural substrate deoxycytidine 5'-triphosphate and by being incorporated into nascent viral DNA which results in chain termination.
• Emtricitabine is a weak inhibitor of mammalian DNA polymerase alpha, beta, epsilon, and mitochondrial DNA polymerase gamma. This medication helps to delay the production of HIV infection and improves the quality of life.
• This tablet boosts your immune system to fight against infection and prevents the virus from multiplying. It also increases the CD4 cell (white blood cells that protect against infection) count in your blood.
  

In case of missing a Tenvir-EM Tablet dose, take the forgotten dose as soon as possible. But if your next dose is just about due, then omit the missed dose and continue your regular dosing regimen.
