Description

Velasof is a combination of two antivirals. It is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection. Velasof (Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir) stops the multiplication of the virus in the body. Velasof can be taken with or without food. Try to take it at the same time everyday. Velasof is not recommended to the patients having a known history of Hepatitis B virus infection due to high risk of adverse reaction.

Pharmacodynamics

The effect of Sofosbuvir (Velasof) 400 mg (recommended dosage) and 1200 mg (three times the recommended dosage) on QTc interval was demonstrated in an active-controlled (moxifloxacin 400 mg) thorough QT trial. Sofosbuvir (Velasof) does not prolong QTc to any clinically relevant extent, at three times the recommended dose. The effect of Velpatasvir (Velasof) 500 mg (five times the recommended dosage) was demonstrated in an active-controlled (moxifloxacin 400 mg) thorough QT trial. Velpatasvir (Velasof) does not prolong QTc interval to any clinically relevant extent, at five times the recommended dose.

Velasof is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection. Hepatitis C is a liver infection caused by Hepatitis C Virus (HPV). Therefore, Velasof helps to control the infection.
