Description
Ceritinib is the active ingredient of Spexib. Ceritinib 150mg Capsule works by inhibiting Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), also called ALK tyrosine kinase receptor or simply CD246 (cluster of differentiation 246). Nearly 4-5% of NSCLCs comprise a chromosomal rearrangement that is responsible for the generation of a fusion gene between EML4 (echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 4) and ALK (anaplastic lymphoma kinase), leading to constitutive kinase activity that further contributes to carcinogenesis and is thought to drive the malignant phenotype.
