Chemotherapy is used to prevent the growth of cancer cells using drugs. Some of the major reasons for chemotherapy treatment are to fight cancer, slow down the growth of cancer cells, and prevent it from reoccurring. It is also used to ease cancer symptoms by shrinking the size of the tumor, which reduces the pain and other problems related to the disease. This therapy can treat different kinds of cancer. Chemotherapy is performed alone and with other treatments also depending on various factors. These factors include the type of cancer, stage of the cancer, medical condition of the patient, and the parts where it has spread internally.

Chemotherapy is given to the patient in different ways which include oral, IV, injection, intrathecal, intraperitoneal, intra-arterial, and topical. IV is the commonly used pathway through which anticancer medicines are transferred to the patient's body. IV is performed by using a needle which is inserted into the vein or lower arm. An experienced nurse or doctor will put the needle at the start of each treatment and will remove it once the treatment is completed.  Chemotherapy injections are given in cycles followed by a rest period. This rest period gives our body some time to recover from the side effects of the drugs and help build new cells.

Anticancer injections are given to the patient in different ways. When these drugs are given in the form of injection, they are called IV bolus or push. The doctor or nurse takes the drug in a very small amount in a syringe and the nurse will attach this syringe into your Cannula or line. This process may take up to 10 minutes. These are as follows:

  • Intramuscular Injection

In this method, the injection is given directly into the muscle which is usually in the upper thigh or arm and into the buttocks. A dull pain or stinging sensation will be there for some time after taking these anticancer injections. Fulvant (Fulvestrant 250mg Injection) is one of the injections available on Magicine Pharma that is used in treating people diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

  • Subcutaneous Injections

These injections are given into the fat layer just under the skin. The places where this injection can be given are the tummy skin (abdomen), thigh, and upper arm. These injections should be taken by an experienced nurse. Nivolumab 100mg Injection is used to treat several cancers like lung, liver, skin, and head & neck cancer. This medicine is available on Magicine Pharma at a reasonable price.

  • Intravenous Injections

Doctors inject these anticancer drugs directly into the vein or directly into the bloodstream. This is the most effective and fastest way of delivering the drug into the body. There are various intravenous injections available on Magicine Pharma like Pembrolizumab Injection (Keytruda).
