Overview
Fulvestrant 250mg injection is an anti-cancer medication. It is prescribed for the treatment of Breast Cancer (estrogen-dependent) in postmenopausal women. It is available in the form of an injection. Fulvant, comprising fulvestrant injection, is a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD).
Breast Cancer
Fulvestrant 250mg injection is an antiestrogen. It acts as an antagonist of the estrogen receptor (ER) and a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD). It binds to the estrogen receptor. Fulvestrant 250mg injection makes it more hydrophobic, further making the receptor unstable and misfold. Therefore, it leads normal processes inside the cell to degrade it. Also, it is an agonist of the G protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER), albeit with relatively low affinity (10–100 nM, relative to 3–6 nM for estradiol).
