Side effects of Evertor (Everolimus)

Usage of Evertor (Everolimus)

This medicine is used to prevent the rejection of an organ transplant. It regulates the body’s immune response, so the body can accept the new organ. This medicine is used in the treatment of breast cancer, patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma, progressive neuroendocrine tumors of pancreatic origin with unresectable, patients suffering from a renal angiomyolipoma, neuroendocrine tumours of pancreatic, a low-grade brain tumour and tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).

Before using Evertor (Everolimus) tablets, inform your doctor about medical history.

  • Use reliable methods of contraception to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine. 

• Children and adolescents 

  • This medicine is not for use in children and adolescents 

Warnings for female 

• Pregnancy 

  • Evertor (Everolimus) shouldn’t be used by women who are pregnant. It is recommended that this medication should be avoided during pregnancy. 

• Breastfeeding 

  • This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless it is necessary. Please consult your doctor. 

General warning and precautions

• This medication may increase the blood glucose level in patients. 

• This medicine may increase cholesterol. 

• This medicine may delay wound healing.

• May increase risk of infections.  

• Avoid grapefruit.

• May cause mouth sores 

• Monitoring of blood count is necessary during treatment with this medicine.

Q1. What is Evertor (Everolimus)?

Ans. Evertor (Everolimus) medicine is used for the prevention of organ rejection in transplant patients. It may also be used to treat certain types of cancer (breast, kidney, lung, pancreatic, intestine, brain etc.)

Q2. How does this  medication work? 

Ans. Evertor suppresses the activity of the body's immune system and prevents rejection of the transplanted organ. Evertor is included in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors that treats cancer by stopping cancer cells from reproducing and cutting off blood supply to the cancer cells.

Q3.What are the side effects? 

Ans. Some common side effects are:- Vomiting, fever, infection, cough, weight gain, hair loss, bleeding gums, blurred vision, shortness of breath, sweating, bleeding gums etc.

Ans. It is available in the strength of 10mg. 

Q5. What should i avoid while taking this medicine?

Ans. Avoid eating grapefruit and drinking grapefruit juice because it may increase the level of evertor tablets in your blood to harmful levels.

Ans. This medicine comes in the form of tablets which can be taken orally with or without food. Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

Ans. This medicine should be used with caution in patients with liver disease.

Ans. Immediately contact your doctor in case you miss a dose.

Ans. This medication is not recommended for pregnant womens, it may cause harm to the unborn baby.

Ans. It is not known whether it is safe or not. Please consult your doctor.

Q11. Is it safe to take  Evertor tablets during breastfeeding? 

Ans. This medicine should not be used by women who are breastfeeding. 

Q12. What are the storage conditions? 

Ans.  Evertor tablets should be stored at room temperature. 

Q13. Can I drive after taking this medicine?

Ans. This medication may affect your ability to drive. 

Q14. Does this affect kidney function? 

Ans. This medication is safe to use with kidney patients. So dose alteration is not needed.

Ans. This is an anti-cancer medicine. It belongs to the kinase inhibitors class of medicines.

Contraindications

• Evertor tablets are not recommended for use in patients with known allergy to Everolimus.

• This medicine is contracted in patients with known hypersensitivity to everolimus.
