Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, Emtricitabine, and Efavirenz are active ingredients that prevent the multiplication of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), and together they form a tablet known as Teefavir and these ingredients work in a combination to decrease the amount of HIV infection. This medication boosts your immune system to fight against HIV and manage AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). Do not stop the dosage of Teefavir tablets without taking permission from your physician.

Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (Teefavir):- This is particularly a nucleoside (acyclic) phosphonate diester analog of adenosine monophosphate. It usually requires initial diester hydrolysis to convert it to tenofovir and subsequent phosphorylations through cellular enzymes and form tenofovir diphosphate. It works to inhibit the activity of HIV-1 RT by competing with the natural substrate deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate and, after incorporation into DNA, by DNA chain termination.

Teefavir (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate + Emtricitabine + Efavirenz) is an anti-HIV tablet, which is used for the treatment of HIV infection and to stop the infection from multiplying. It is advisable to take this medicine as prescribed by your medical practitioner and do not skip your regular dosing schedule. It is necessary to inform your doctor if you have a history of cardiac disease or liver disease. The recommended dose of Teefavir tablet is decided by your healthcare professional. Dosage may vary differently to the patients according to their age, weight, and other health concerns.

The teefavir 300mg tablets can be taken with a meal or snack. If prescribed another combination version of this medicine, should be taken one or two hours before a meal.
The teefavir 300mg tablets should not be taken by pregnant women, only when highly needed. It is advisable not to miss your dose until your doctor informs you.
You should avoid consuming alcohol while taking teefavir 300mg tablets as it may damage your liver. Although, HIV medicines don’t get affected by it, always consult your doctor beforehand.
