Ramucirumab 500mg Injection is a medicine used to treat stomach cancer (that got worse during or after a certain type of chemotherapy), colorectal cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. This medication interferes with the growth of cancer cells in the body. This medication comes in the form of an injection and it is given as an infusion every 2 to 3 weeks by your doctor or nurse. This medicine works by stopping the formation of blood vessels that bring oxygen and nutrients to tumors. This may slow the growth and spread of tumors.

Ramucirumab is a VEGFR2 antagonist that specifically binds VEGFR2 and blocks the binding of VEGFR ligands, VEGF-A, VEGF-C, and VEGF-D. A dose range of 6-12mg is administered every two or three weeks. Ramucirumab systematic exposure increased dose proportionally at doses of 8mg and above and steady-state concentrations were achieved at approximately 12 weeks.
Ramucirumab 500mg Injection may cause some unwanted side effects. If they occur it may require medical attention.

In case you missed a dose of Ramucirumab 500mg Injection, immediately contact your doctor. Don’t double up the next dose to cope with the missed one unless your doctor recommends it.

Some common side effects are vomiting, constipation, fainting, fever, chills, swelling, chest pain, joint pain, weakness, shivering, nose bleeds, and itching.
This medication can cause severe bleeding, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. If any of these symptoms occur immediately contact your doctor.
This medicine is unsafe to take during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor regarding this.
