Entehep (Entecavir) tablet belongs to a group of medications called antivirals, and it is used for the treatment of the Hepatitis B virus. This medicine helps to reduce the amount of virus in the body. Take this medicine orally once a day. If you experience any symptoms while receiving this medicine, inform your doctor immediately. It is advisable not to change or stop the dose without taking suggestions from your doctor. Follow your regular dosing schedule and store this medicine at room temperature. Regular blood tests to check your blood cell counts and liver function are required. It lowers the virus's levels in the body by preventing it from replicating. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections in adults, children, and adolescents (2–18 years old) are treated with Entehep 0.5 mg tablets.
Lactic acidosis (excess lactic acid in the blood), an uncommon but serious side effect, is possible with Entehep 0.5 mg tablets, especially in obese women. However, please call your doctor right away if you have nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain while taking this medication.
Serious liver problems like steatosis and hepatomegaly (liver enlargement) (an increased build-up of fat in the liver) might be brought on by taking an Entehep 0.5 mg tablet. Please speak with your doctor if you have a history of liver issues; the dosage may need to be changed.
