Overview
Inbec, comprising Indinavir, is an antiviral or antiretroviral medicine. It is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. It interferes with an enzyme (protease), which is required by HIV-infected cells to make new viruses. It stops or slows the virus from multiplying. It is advisable to take this medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor for better efficacy without increasing or decreasing the dose strength. This medicine is available at the best price in India.
HIV
Indinavir (Inbec) is a protease inhibitor with activity against Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). These inhibitors block the part of HIV called protease. HIV-1 protease is an enzyme required for the proteolytic cleavage of the viral polyprotein precursors into the individual functional proteins found in infectious HIV-1. Indinavir works to bind to the protease active site and inhibits the activity of the enzyme. Further, this inhibition prevents cleavage of the viral polyproteins resulting in the formation of immature non-infectious viral particles.
