Overview  

Temotero (Temozolomide) capsule is used to treat brain tumors. This medication belongs to a group of cancer-fighting medications known as antineoplastic and specifically to the group of antineoplastic known as alkylating agents. It interferes with the development of cancer cells and slows their growth in the body. Do not take this medicine in the wrong way as it may lead to some severe side effects. It is advisable not to change or stop the dose without taking suggestions from your doctor. If you experience any symptoms while receiving this medicine, inform your doctor immediately. The recommended dose of medicine is decided by the doctor. 

Pharmacodynamics of Temotero

Temozolomide is an antineoplastic agent. It is not directly active but undergoes rapid nonenzymatic conversion at physiologic pH to the reactive compound 5-(3-methyltriazen-1-yl)-imidazole-4-carboxamide (MTIC). The cytotoxicity of MTIC is thought to be primarily due to the alkylation of DNA. After the oral administration effect of this medicine can be observed immediately.  

Usage of Temotero 

This medicine is used in the treatment of certain types of Brain cancers (Anaplastic astrocytoma and Glioblastoma multiforme). Temotero capsules stop the growth of cancer cells. Close monitoring of blood cell count is required during treatment with this medicine. Do not miss your regular dosing schedule. The recommended dose is decided by a doctor according to your previous medical condition and response to the treatment. Take this medicine at the same time each day and do not chew or open the capsule. Swallow the whole capsule with a glass of water. Do not breastfeed while taking this medicine. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it away from light and moisture.
