Maball (Rituximab 500mg) Injection is used in the treatment of non-hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), rheumatoid arthritis, and blood cancer (chronic lymphocytic leukemia). It is an injection given under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider. The active ingredient of Maball injection is Rituximab. It is available in the strength of 500 mg. It is a genetically engineered chimeric murine/human monoclonal antibody, which is directed against the CD20 antigen found on the surface of normal and malignant B lymphocytes.
Maball 100mg injection links to the CD20 antigen on normal and malignant B-cells. Therefore, the essential immune security of the body is initiated to attack and then to kill the marked B-cells. Stem cells in the bone marrow grow into various cell types. They do not have the CD20 antigen. After the treatment, CD20 antigen allows the multiplication of healthy B-cells.
Maball injection is not indicated for use in patients who have a known allergy to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
