  • Maball 500mg Injection is used in the treatment of non-hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), rheumatoid arthritis, and blood cancer (chronic lymphocytic leukemia).
  • It is an injection given under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider. The active ingredient of Maball injection is Rituximab. It is available in a strength of 500 mg.
  • Rituximab 500mg Injection is a genetically engineered chimeric murine/human monoclonal antibody, which is directed against the CD20 antigen found on the surface of normal and malignant B lymphocytes.

Side Effects

Maball 500mg Injection may cause certain side effects. If side effects occur after administration or last longer than usual, contact your healthcare professional. Regular blood tests are needed to monitor your blood cells and check for hepatitis B. Common side effects are:

  • Hair loss
  • Decrease in WBC
  • Skin rash
  • Insomnia
  • Sore throat

How To Use

  • Rituximab 500mg medicine will be administered by your doctor or nurse.
  • Do not take it on your own.

How It Works

  • Maball 500mg Injection links to the CD20 antigen on both normal and malignant B‑cells.
  • This binding triggers the immune system to attack and kill the tagged B‑cells.
  • Stem cells, which lack CD20, survive and later regenerate healthy B‑cells after treatment.

Safety Advice

Alcohol

It is advisable not to consume alcohol while taking this medicine. But as the effects of alcohol on this medicine is not known, kindly consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

Maball 500mg Injection is not advised during pregnancy, as animal studies show potential harm to the fetus. However, a doctor may prescribe it if the expected benefits outweigh the possible risks. Use reliable contraception to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine.

Breast Feeding

Without a doctor's consultation, do not take this medicine if you're breastfeeding.

Driving

It is not known whether Maball 500mg Injection affects driving ability. Avoid driving if you experience symptoms that reduce concentration or reaction time, and consult your doctor.

Kidney

Do not take ​Maball Injection without a doctor's consultation in case of kidney problems.

Liver
