Description

Abamune L (Abacavir/Lamivudine) tablet is a prescription medicine. It is used in the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. It boosts up the immunity to fight against the virus and manage AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). It slows the growth of the virus in the body and reduces HIV-related symptoms, thereby improving the lifespan of individuals. It increases the CD4 cell (white blood cells that protect against infection) count in the blood. This medicine is available at the best price in India.

Pharmacodynamics

Abacavir:- Abacavir is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) with activity against Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). It is phosphorylated to active metabolites that compete for incorporation into viral DNA. They work to inhibit the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme competitively and act as a chain terminator of DNA synthesis.

Lamivudine:- A nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) with activity against Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) and Hepatitis B (HBV) to disrupt viral DNA synthesis. Lamivudine can form active metabolites when phosphorylated, that compete for incorporation into viral DNA. Via DNA incorporation, lamivudine metabolites inhibit the activity of the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme and then act as a chain terminator of DNA synthesis.
