• It works by blocking the action of an enzyme called CYP17.
• This enzyme is involved in the production of the male hormone androgen, as some prostate cancer depends on these hormones to grow and this medicine effectively slows down or stops the progression of cancer by inhibiting the action of this enzyme.

• Abione 250mg Tablet is used in adult men to treat advanced prostate cancer that has spread, often together with prednisone to reduce side effects. Always pair it with prednisone to prevent adrenal insufficiency.
• Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor, once daily on an empty stomach; food can increase medicine levels.
• It may be combined with testosterone-lowering treatment in earlier stages of prostate cancer.
• Serious risks include adrenal insufficiency, liver toxicity, heart problems, and bone fractures; regular monitoring is essential.
  
• Liver function tests are required before starting the treatment and then regularly.
• This medicine is not for women or children; men must use contraceptives during treatment and after stopping.
• Inform your doctor if you have liver problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, allergies, or low potassium.
