Alltera (Ritonavir/Lopinavir) tablet is a prescription medicine. It is used in the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. It boosts the immunity to fight against the virus and manage AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). It slows the growth of the virus in the body and reduces HIV-related symptoms, thereby improving the lifespan of individuals. However, it is not a permanent cure for HIV. It increases the CD4 cell (white blood cells that protect against infection) count in the blood. This medicine is available at the best price in India.
HIV
Ritonavir:- An HIV protease inhibitor that interferes with the reproductive cycle of HIV. It was initially developed as an independent antiviral agent. It has been shown to possess advantageous properties in combination regimens with low-dose ritonavir and other protease inhibitors. Ritonavir is now more commonly used as a booster of other protease inhibitors and is available in both liquid formulations and capsules.
Lopinavir:- An antiretroviral protease inhibitor that inhibits the activity of an enzyme critical for the HIV viral lifecycle. It has a propensity for participating in drug interactions. It is an inhibitor of the HIV-1 protease enzyme.

Alltera tablet is a combination of two antiretroviral agents namely Ritonavir and Lopinavir. This medicine is available in the strength of 50mg/200mg in the form of tablets for oral administration. It is important to take this medicine regularly at the right time for better efficacy. Also, it is advisable to not miss a dose. Make sure to report the side effects to the doctor (if any).
