Exemestane 25mg tablet is an anti-cancer medicine approved for the treatment of estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This medication comprises exemestane (an antineoplastic aromatase inhibitor). It is available in the form of 25 mg oral tablets. In some cases, it is also used as an adjuvant treatment for breast cancer. 

Description

​ Aromatase is an enzyme in the adrenal glands that transforms hormones into estrogen. Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) like Exemestane are medications that limit aromatase function in the adrenal glands, lowering estrogen levels.

Selective AIs (SAIs) lower estrogen levels while leaving other steroid hormones generated by the adrenal gland alone. It is usually given to women who have received two to three years of tamoxifen. ​
