Side effects of Capetero (capecitabine)

Dosage

Use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take this medicine in the wrong way and make sure to take this medication according to your dosing schedule.

Missed dose 

• In case you missed a dose, immediately contact your doctor. It is important to take the dose of this medicine as scheduled by your medical advisor. 

Overdose 

• Emergency medical treatment is required. Please contact your medical advisor in case of an overdose. 

General warnings and precautions 

• Close monitoring of kidney function is required while receiving this medicine. 

• This medicine may cause some serious skin reaction 

• This tablet may reduce the number of white blood cells and platelets. 

• Close monitoring of blood cell count and body temperature is required while receiving this medicine. 

• The Chances of infections are more in patients receiving this medicine. 

Cautions 

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• May harm liver and kidney function.

• Not safe for pregnant women 

• Do not drive or operate heavy machinery.

  • Capetero shouldn’t be used by women who are pregnant. Atezolizumab may harm the baby. It is recommended that this medication should be avoided during pregnancy. 

• Breastfeeding 

  • This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless it is necessary. Please consult your medical advisor before starting treatment with this medicine.

Ans. Capetero tablet is an anti-cancer medication which is used in the treatment of colorectal and breast cancer.

Ans. When the Capetero tablet goes inside the body it gets converted into 5-fluorouracil. This chemical works by preventing cell division and cancerous cells.

Ans. It is available in the strength of 500mg.

Ans. Some common side effects are:- vomiting, fever, shortness of breath, blurred vision, loss of appetite, headache, skin rash, nausea, dehydration. 

Q5. How should I take this medicine?

Ans. Take this medicine with food within 30 minutes after taking the meal. Do not skip the dosing schedule.

Contraindications

• Capetero tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney injury. 

• Capetero tablet is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Capecitabine. 

• This medicine is contracted in patients with known hypersensitivity to Capecitabine.
