Etoricoxib tablets belong to a class of medications known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). This medication works by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for pain and inflammation. Do not take Etoricoxib 90mg Tablet in the wrong way as it might lead to some serious side effects. Etoricoxib is a COX-2 selective inhibitor. Currently, Etoricoxib 90mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, chronic lower back pain, acute pain, and Gout. Just like any other COX-2 selective inhibitor, Etoricoxib 90mg Tablet selectively works to inhibit isoform 2 of the cyclo-oxygenase enzyme (COX-2) in order to reduce the generation of prostaglandins (PGs) from arachidonic acid. It is hence approved in more than 60 countries worldwide but not in the US.
Etoricoxib 90mg tablet is used to reduce the pain and swelling (inflammation) in the joints and muscles with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout. It is available in the form of tablets for oral administration in the strengths of 90 mg and 120 mg. It should be taken exactly as prescribed by the healthcare provider.Etoricoxib 90mg Tablet should be swallowed as a whole with water, without breaking, chewing, or cutting it. Also, it is important to not skip a dose for better efficacy.
