Hepcvel (Sofosbuvir-Velpatasvir) tablet is used in the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection in adults. It works by lowering the multiplication of HCV in the body, and thereby removing the virus from the body. The active ingredient of Hepcvel, Sofosbuvir-Velpatasvir is the combination of two direct acting agents against the virus (HCV).
Hepcvel Tablets are an oral fixed-dose combination (FDC) of sofosbuvir and velpatasvir which are direct-acting antiviral agents against the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog HCV NS5B polymerase inhibitor and velpatasvir is an NS5A inhibitor. The effect of Sofosbuvir 400 mg (recommended dosage) and 1200 mg (three times the recommended dosage) on QTc interval was evaluated in an active-controlled (moxifloxacin 400 mg) thorough QT trial. At a dose (three times the recommended dose), Sofosbuvir does not prolong QTc to any clinically relevant extent.The effect of Velpatasvir 500 mg (five times the recommended dosage) was evaluated in an active-controlled (moxifloxacin 400 mg) thorough QT trial. At a dose (five times the recommended dose), Velpatasvir does not prolong QTc interval to any clinically relevant extent.

Take Hepcvel tablet exactly as your healthcare provider tells you. Do not increase or decrease the dose strength, unless your healthcare provider tells you.
If you miss a dose, take the dose as soon as you remember. But, if it is already the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose in order to catch up.
It is advised to seek medical help in case of overdose.
Hepcvel tablet is not recommended for consumption in children.
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider regarding your medical history and all the medicines you already take.
Do not alter or increase the dose strength on your own, unless your doctor tells you.
Do not crush, chew or break Hepcvel tablet.
Do not stop taking this medicine as per your own wish.
Consult your doctor in case of any problematic side effect.
In patients with kidney disease, Hepcvel should be administered the utmost caution.
In patients with liver disease, Hepcvel is safe, only if prescribed.
During pregnancy, make sure to consult your healthcare provider before taking Hepcvel tablet.
During breastfeeding, Hepcvel is safe if prescribed by the healthcare provider.
Avoid the consumption of alcohol.
Do not drive or operate heavy machines if you experience side effects like dizziness or loss of vision (or any other).
