Ricovir-L (Lamivudine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) tablet is a combination of two antiretroviral medicines. It belongs to a class of medication known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). This medication is used in the treatment of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. This medication helps to reduce the amount of HIV in your body and boost your immune system to fight against infection. It is important to take Ricovir-L tablets as prescribed by your doctor. It is advised not to change your regular dosing schedule without taking suggestions from your doctor. HIV
Lamivudine (Ricovir L):- It is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) with activity against Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) and Hepatitis B (HBV) to disrupt viral DNA synthesis. Lamivudine can form active metabolites when phosphorylated, that compete for incorporation into viral DNA. Via DNA incorporation, lamivudine metabolites inhibit the activity of the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme and then act as a chain terminator of DNA synthesis.
