HIV

  • Teevir Tablet can be taken without food or with food.

  • You should not break, crush, or chew the medicine; it should be swallowed as a whole.

How It Works

Teervir tablet is made up of three antiviral medicines, i.e, Efavirenz, Emtricitabine, and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. This medicine works by increasing the CD4 cell count in your blood ( White blood cells).

Furthermore, it reduces the amount of virus in the body by preventing the growth of HIV (virus).This medicine is available in the strengths of 200 mg/300 mg/600 mg in the form of tablets for oral administration.

Alcohol
The interaction of alcohol with this drug is still unknown. It is advisable not to consume alcohol while taking Teevir Tablet. Consult your doctor for further information.
Pregnancy
Teevir Tablet may be considered unsafe during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor in such a condition. According to some research data, taking Teevir Tablet during pregnancy has shown harmful effects on the developing baby.
Breast Feeding
Teevir Tablet is probably not safe if you're breastfeeding. Kindly consult your doctor before taking Teevir Tablet while breastfeeding, as there are chances that it may pass to the developing baby through the breast milk of the mother.
Driving
It is advisable not to drive or operate heavy machinery after taking Teevir Tablet, as you may feel dizzy.
Kidney
Share your medical history with your healthcare expert in case of kidney disease before taking Teevir Tablet. Patients with renal impairment must be careful while taking Teevir Tablet. They may require adjustment in the dose.
Liver
Inform your doctor before starting Teevir Tablet if you have liver disease to avoid any serious side effects. Patients with hepatic impairment must be careful while taking Teevir Tablet. They may require adjustment in the dose.

Missed Doses

  • It is advisable to not skip a dose.
  • If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as you remember.
  • However, if it is already time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and take the scheduled dose.
  • Also, make sure to not increase the dose strength to catch up with the missed dose.
