Viraday tablet is a combination of three anti-HIV medicines: Emtricitabine, Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, and Efavirenz. This medication is not a permanent cure for HIV infection. It only prevents the multiplication of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection in human cells. The recommended dose of Viraday medicine is decided by a doctor according to your previous medical condition and response to the treatment. It is advisable not to change your regular dosing schedule without taking suggestions from your doctor. If you experience any signs and symptoms while receiving the Viraday tablet, inform your doctor immediately.
Three active components make up Viraday Tablet-
Efavirenz (600 mg): Efavirenz functions as a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) by attaching itself to the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme and preventing it from functioning. This stops viral RNA from being converted into DNA, which is an essential stage in HIV replication.
Emtricitabine (200 mg): A nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) is Emtricitabine, which is phosphorylated inside cells, where it competes with natural nucleosides and joins the expanding viral DNA chain, causing the chain to break.
Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (300 mg): This medication is an NRTI, just like emtricitabine. It integrates into the viral DNA chain after phosphorylation, leading to termination.
