Description

Virataz R is a prescription medicine. It is a combination of two antiretrovirals namely Atazanavir and Ritonavir. This medicine is prescribed for the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. It boosts up the immunity to fight against the virus and manage AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). It slows the growth of the virus in the body and reduces HIV-related symptoms, thereby improving the lifespan of individuals. This medicine is available at the best price in India.

Pharmacodynamics

Atazanavir:- it is an azapeptide HIV-1 protease inhibitor (PI) with activity against Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). HIV-1 protease is an enzyme required for the proteolytic cleavage of the viral polyprotein precursors into the individual functional proteins found in infectious HIV-1. Atazanavir works to bind to the protease active site and inhibit the activity of the enzyme. The inhibition prevents cleavage of the viral polyproteins resulting in the formation of immature non-infectious viral particles. Protease inhibitors are almost always used in combination with at least two other anti-HIV drugs.

Ritonavir:- It is a protease inhibitor with activity against Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). Protease inhibitors block the part of HIV called protease. HIV-1 protease is an enzyme required for the proteolytic cleavage of the viral polyprotein precursors into the individual functional proteins found in infectious HIV-1. Ritonavir works to bind to the protease active site and inhibits the activity of the enzyme. The inhibition prevents cleavage of the viral polyproteins resulting in the formation of immature non-infectious viral particles.
