Overview
Xtane 25 mg Tablet comprises Exemestane (an aromatase inhibitor). This medicine is prescribed for the treatment of hormone-dependent breast cancer among postmenopausal women. The medication works to reduce the estrogen levels, thus hindering the proliferation of cancer cells.
Xtane is used in early breast cancer after 2–3 years of treatment with tamoxifen and in advanced breast cancer that has not responded to other hormonal treatments. It is usually taken once a day after a meal and can have side effects such as insomnia, headache, sweating, joint or bone pain, fatigue, and nausea.
This is unsafe during pregnancy or breastfeeding and may decrease bone density, so close monitoring and medical guidance are essential, especially in patients with liver or kidney problems.
