Bdron 500mg is a hormone therapy medicine used in the treatment of prostate cancer in men. The generic name of the medicine is Abiraterone acetate. This medication is anti-androgen & strictly prescribed by the doctor who also decides the dosage, and course of the treatment.
Prostate Cancer
The CYP17 is an enzyme that catalyzes the formation of the androgens. The increased levels of androgen furthermore influence the uncontrollable cell proliferation in the prostate gland. Bdron 500mg inhibits this CYP17 enzyme which consequently blocks the production of androgens. As a result, this medication stops the uncontrollable cell division and spreading of the tumor cells.
